DIDASKALIA 1: Elementary teachings of faith

The Dimensions of the Holy Spirit’s Presence in Us: How Can We Have Each Dimension?

    • To be full of Spirit

And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch.” Acts 6.5

    • Stephen is one of the people who were designated as deacons in the early Church. The apostles asked that people full of the Holy Spirit be chosen for them. This distinction is made in the midst of a church where people had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
    • The dimension of being full reflects the constancy of the filling of our being by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is cultivated by our constancy in maintaining his presence in us through communion, prayer and consecration.
    • Those who are full of the Spirit perform exploits constantly. They experience miracles constantly and not occasionally.
