    How to be born again?

    • Jesus announced that being born again was being born of water and the Spirit. Some interpret this to mean that water baptism is part of being born again.

    • In John 4, Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman about water. In all their conversation, He gave nothing to this woman but His Word. In other words, when John speaks of water here, he is speaking of the Word.

    • Being born again is the result of the Holy Spirit working in us when we believe in God’s Word that Jesus died for our sins and offers us eternal life. It is the work of regeneration that God does in us through His Spirit when we receive and believe in Jesus.
